A HUGE MONTREAL STREET FOOD FEST OPENS THIS WEEKEND AND YOUR TASTE BUDS CAN TRAVEL THE WORLD

Montreal summers are notorious for being overloaded with festivals. But, lately, it seems like food festivals in particular have been taking the cake (pun intended), with a new one cropping up each weekend — and we're definitely not mad at it.

The latest Montreal food event, which is set to kick off this Thursday, features international street eats from countries including Spain, Korea, Vietnam, Japan, Mexico, the Philippines, Thailand, Laos, the Caribbean, Venezuela and more.

It's also open until 10 p.m. most days, turning the Old Port's Clock Tower Quay into a full-on night market once the sun goes down.

"Picture this: the sizzle of the grill, the aroma of mouth-watering spices, the buzz of excited chatter, and the vibrant colours of over 40 food stalls, all coming together for an unforgettable culinary experience," the Montreal Streetfood Festival website says.

Now in its fourth edition, the Montreal Streetfood Festival has been billed "the city's largest street food night market." That's no surprise considering that for a $4 entry fee ($3 in advance), and dishes ranging between $1 and $16, you can take your taste buds on a world tour for way less than the price of a plane ticket.

Craving an octopus skewer amuse bouche followed by jerk chicken with a side of Pad Thai and churros for dessert? At the Montreal Streetfood Festival, this kind of meal couldn't be easier to pull off.

Throw in a gorgeous view of the waterfront, beer, cocktails, musical performances and inflatable games for the kiddies, and you've got yourself a guaranteed good time as well as plans for this weekend.

Wishing your taste buds safe travels, and bon appétit!
